"I wanted to create an up to date Skelmersdale Business directory called Skem First. I really started to believe that we should all do our bit to try to support local businesses first. I was being a hypocrite though, I'll be the first to admit, it's often easier to just "buy it from Amazon!". I wanted to try to change that mindset though, I would buy local if I knew where to do that. Keeping money in Skem creates jobs and boosts the local economy. I didn't want to use Electricians that travelled from Southport, Dog Groomers from Burscough etc, I'd have much rather tried where possible, to keep my money in this town!
